Tank or Armored Vehicle Runs Over Civilian Passenger Car Head-on, Entrapping Elderly Driver in Ukraine

Civilians worked on extrication after the male driver of a passenger car was run over by a tank head-on while driving on a street in Ukraine. There are a variety of claims about the details of the crash. At least one report say the crash involved a Russian armored vehicle that was used to run over a car that was exiting the city. Another report says the vehicle was Ukrainian, but driven by a Russian. Another report said the vehicle was driven by a Ukrainian solder and simply went out of control.

There was a transport truck ambushed just before this crash occurred about 50 yards away. The truck driver drove over a curb into a parking lot. One person jumped out of the truck for cover and sat on the ground. At least two soldiers with rifles fired on the soldier sitting on the ground, shooting the soldier multiple times. Then the armored vehicle or tank ran over the passenger vehicle in the head-on crash in the background.

CBS News is reporting that the civilian vehicle was driven over by what Ukrainian civilians and defense forces said was a Russian armored vehicle operated by a saboteur group, before the Russians were killed in Kyiv, Ukraine, February 25, 2022.

According to the Ukrainian online newspaper Ukrayinska Pravda, Ukraine Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar warned “The Russian military seized two AFU (Armed Forces Ukraine) vehicles, changed into Ukrainian military uniforms and are moving at high speed towards the center of Kyiv from the direction of Obolon. They are followed by a column of Russian military trucks.”
