A hard landing involving an MH-60 Black Hawk chopper attached to an elite Army helicopter unit, occurred at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Ga.
The helicopter crew belongs to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, which trains to fly helicopters behind enemy lines under cover of darkness. The unit is also known asthe Night Stalkers, with a battalion based in Savannah.
Thursday’s crash is the third fatal incident involving a U.S. military helicopter.
