NYPD gathered an x-ray image of an ice cooler that was left at 46th and Broadway. Fire department, EMS, and Office of Emergency Management are also on the scene. The cooler was found at 46th Street and Broadway around 1:15 p.m. in front of the Marriott Marquis Hotel. The cooler was carried away as an ‘all clear’ was given, and the streets were open up at about 2:20 p.m. EDT. The cooler contained water bottles.
About three blocks near Times Square were closed as a precaution since the cooler was found about a block from where a smoking SUV and failed car bomb was found Saturday night.
On an average day, New York City police get 90 to 100 reports of a suspicious package.
